These shampoos often have ingredients that alleviate skin inflammation and itching, while also helping to reduce potential allergens on the skin and coat . Chlorhexidine belongs to a group of medicines called antiseptic antibacterial agents. It is used to clean the skin after an injury, before surgery, or before an injection . Chlorhexidine is also used to clean the hands before a procedure. It works by killing or preventing the growth of bacteria on the skin. Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic agent . This differs from an antibiotic which targets only specific classes of bacteria. Chlorhexidine would fall into a similar category of antiseptic agents such as bleach. Unlike bleach, chlorhexidine is safe to use on the skin and other bodily surfaces Also Contains:

SHAKE WELL BEFORE EACH USE. Apply to wet coat, rub onto skin and haircoat until lightly lathered. Allow shampoo to remain on skin and coat for 5-10 minutes. Rinse well. May be used daily or as directed by veterinarian. Caution:
For topical use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If skin irritation develops or increases, stop use and call your veterinarian. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Human Warning:
Wash hands after use. Rare but serious allergic reactions have been reported with exposure to chlorhexidine gluconate.
